Tab Trade - What It Is
Tab Trade opened in Q1 2026. CFD broker based in Saint Lucia, regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background matters. It suggests the person running this knows how a proper broker operates. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. It is better than a founder with no industry background.
TabTrade came out of the gate with execution through Equinix servers. Same data centres institutional desks use. Usually a new brokerage starts with a white-label MT4 setup. TabTrade went the other way. Interesting choice.
What you can trade: forex, indices, metals, commodities, shares, crypto, ETFs. Over 1,000 instruments. For a broker that launched in March 2026, that range is broad.
Platforms
Available: MetaTrader 5, cTrader by Spotware, and a browser platform. Both platforms from a single account. A lot of brokers commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Access to both makes a difference. Pick what suits your style.
MT5 is the industry standard. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you know MetaTrader before, you know exactly what you are getting.
cTrader is the cleaner option. Better DOM. Smoother chart interaction. cBot support. Many people prefer it after comparing.
Direct FIX connectivity is offered for algo traders but is only on the VIP account ($25,000 deposit). TradingView is said to be in the works. That would be a good addition once it is live.
Accounts and Pricing
Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. Spreads from 1.0 pips. Zero commission. Straightforward. No minimum deposit. Works for anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge account. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips average. Commission of $3.50 each way. All-in: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On liquid pairs, the raw spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost sometimes sits below 0.5 pips. That is cheap for a broker with no minimum deposit. Most brokers that run raw pricing at this level require a minimum deposit. This broker has no minimum.
VIP account. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, tailored rates. Not something typical accounts. Skip it unless you move real size.
Execution Speed
This is the area where this broker stands apart. Equinix LD4/LD5. Under 30ms on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. That is institutional numbers. Most retail brokers operate at a much wider range.
Does it matter? If you scalp, yes. The gap between fast execution and sluggish execution is the difference between. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. The point is the setup is serious. That says what kind of broker this is.
Pair those fill times with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and what you get is strong. Hardly anyone in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.
The FSRA Question
Here is the thing you need to be straight about. The broker is licensed by Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is offshore. No CySEC. No government-backed safety net. If the lack of tier-1 regulation is a problem for you, look elsewhere. There are FCA-regulated options out there.
But. The person running it spent years at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The server placement is not cheap. Dodgy operations do not invest in tier-1 data centre access. None of this replace tier-1 regulation. But inform your assessment.
The deal: you give up tier-1 protection. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, fast fills. Whether that is worth it depends on you.
